Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge — Terminal 2, London Heathrow

The Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge at Heathrow T2 is the Star Alliance business class lounge of choice for many frequent flyers transiting the terminal — a well-run, well-maintained room that serves both SQ Business passengers and Star Alliance Gold members flying on any Star Alliance carrier from T2. It is a larger and more varied space than the First Class Lounge above it in the pecking order, and while it does not match the exclusivity or the food precision of that room, it is comfortably among the better business class lounges at Heathrow. For Star Alliance Gold members — earned via United MileagePlus Premier Gold through 1K, Lufthansa Senator and HON Circle, and dozens of other carriers — it is typically the best option available at T2.

The lounge is located in the T2B satellite on the upper level, open daily from 05:00–22:00 — hours broad enough to cover all Star Alliance departures from T2. Unlike some carrier lounges at T2 which operate only around their own departure windows, the SilverKris Business Lounge is accessible to Star Alliance Gold members regardless of which Star Alliance carrier they are flying. It is the best Star Alliance business class lounge at the terminal.

The Lounge

The Business Class Lounge shares the calm, well-finished aesthetic of the SilverKris network — warm tones, quality materials, considered lighting — but at a larger scale and with a more varied mix of guests. The layout separates a buffet dining area, a bar counter, and a more relaxed lounge seating zone. Windows provide natural light and apron views. The room handles moderate occupancy well and is rarely as crowded as the generic Star Alliance lounges in the terminal, largely because access is tied to SQ’s departure windows rather than the full day. At peak times around SQ’s morning or evening departures it fills noticeably but remains manageable.

The finish is notably better than the generic Star Alliance Lounge at T2, and the overall atmosphere is calmer and more considered than most alliance business class lounges at Heathrow. It does not have the spa of the Virgin Clubhouse or the à la carte restaurant of the Qantas Lounge at T3, but as a buffet-and-bar business class product it is well above average for the terminal.

Food & Drink

The buffet covers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a selection that reflects SQ’s Asian heritage alongside standard Western options — congee and noodle dishes typically feature alongside the hot Western buffet items, which distinguishes it from the more generic contract lounge buffets at T2. Quality is above contract lounge standard and consistent with what you would expect from an airline that takes its ground product seriously. The selection is broader at breakfast than at other meal periods; lunch and dinner are adequate rather than exceptional.

The bar is staffed and offers spirits, wine, beer and cocktails, all complimentary. Wine quality is above average for a business class lounge. Coffee is available throughout. The overall drinks offer is strong for the tier and noticeably better than the generic Star Alliance Lounge in the terminal.

Showers

Showers are complimentary and of a good standard — private suites, quality toiletries, towels and hairdryer provided. The number of suites is adequate for typical occupancy; waits are more likely at peak SQ departure times. Book at reception on arrival. Condition is consistently reported as clean and well-maintained.

Getting In

For Star Alliance Gold members at T2, the SilverKris Business Lounge is the best available option — open daily 05:00–22:00 and accessible to all Star Alliance Gold members regardless of which carrier they are flying. If you are flying United, Lufthansa, Air Canada, ANA or any other Star Alliance carrier from T2, this lounge is available to you. Your carrier’s own lounge may also be available — United Polaris for 1K members, Lufthansa Senator for Senator/HON Circle, Maple Leaf for AC elite — but the SilverKris Business Lounge is the strongest general-purpose option in the terminal.

For SQ Business passengers, access is straightforward — present your boarding pass at the door. For Star Alliance Gold members on any other carrier at T2, the SilverKris Business Lounge is open daily 05:00–22:00 and is the best business class lounge available in the terminal. If you hold PPS Club status and prefer the quieter First Class Lounge next door, that option is available to you instead.
