My Lounge at Gatwick South occupies the rear half of what was formerly the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse — the other half became Club Aspire, which shares a wall but operates entirely independently. It is a smaller, more relaxed space than No1 next door, and the only independent lounge at Gatwick South with an outdoor terrace. It accepts Priority Pass and DragonPass with a £6 pre-booking fee, and cash walk-ins from around £30. For Priority Pass holders who cannot get a No1 reservation, or who prefer a quieter environment, My Lounge is the natural fallback — and on its own merits, a more enjoyable room than its lower profile might suggest.

Location & Getting There
My Lounge is on the same level as security at Gatwick South — do not take the escalators down to the main concourse. From security, take the corridor immediately to your left. My Lounge is the first lounge entrance you encounter as you come out onto the mezzanine level — before the shared No1 and Clubrooms reception desk. Club Aspire is nearby in the same cluster. The BA lounges are further along the same corridor, past the No1 complex, and require a lift up one additional floor. Allow extra time to reach the gates from this level — Gatwick South boarding gate distances can be long.
Access Routes
My Lounge is the first lounge you come to on the mezzanine and is often overlooked in favour of No1. This works in your favour: it tends to be quieter at most times of day and the £6 pre-booking fee is the same as No1. On a busy morning when No1 is showing full, try booking My Lounge instead — it fills less quickly and access is more reliable. Fast-track security can be added for an extra fee when pre-booking, or purchased separately via mygatwick.com.

The Lounge
My Lounge at Gatwick South takes up the rear section of the old Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, a large space that was divided when Virgin ceased Gatwick operations during the pandemic. Club Aspire occupies the front portion; My Lounge sits behind it with its own separate entrance from the mezzanine corridor. The two lounges share a wall but have no internal connection. The division means My Lounge is a reasonably sized and well-laid-out space, with a variety of seating types — dining tables, armchairs, sofas — and a mix of zones that suit both eating and quieter work.
The outdoor terrace is My Lounge’s most distinctive feature and one of the few outdoor lounge spaces at Gatwick South. It is a proper terrace with seating and views, not merely a window seat — and on a pleasant morning it is a genuinely enjoyable place to sit with a drink. The children’s gaming area is another point of differentiation, making My Lounge a more family-friendly choice than the predominantly adult-oriented No1 and the strictly adults-only Clubrooms. The main lounge area has large windows looking towards jetbridges rather than aircraft — not an airfield view, but the space is well-lit nonetheless.
Food & Drink
The buffet covers a reasonable spread of hot and cold options across the day, rotating between a morning breakfast selection and a more general all-day format. A pancake machine is a perennial feature and popular with families. Cold items include salads and sandwiches; hot options are standard contract lounge fare. The selection is smaller than No1 but adequate for most visits. Sparkling wine and champagne carry a supplement — wine on ice is available as a display feature but the practical drinks selection of included wines, beers and spirits is solid. The bar is staffed. Premium spirits may also attract a supplement — confirm on arrival.
Lounge Club cards — including the passes that come with the Amex Gold card — are not accepted at My Lounge. If you have Lounge Club rather than Priority Pass, your independent lounge options at Gatwick South are No1 and Club Aspire. Priority Pass and DragonPass holders have My Lounge as an additional option. Note also that Club Aspire closes around 1pm, making My Lounge the better all-day fallback for afternoon departures when No1 is full.
How It Compares
Within the Gatwick South independent lounge cluster, My Lounge sits between No1 and the closed-early Club Aspire. It is smaller and less well-equipped than No1, but typically quieter and more reliably accessible — particularly during the peak morning windows when No1 is at maximum capacity. The outdoor terrace is a genuine advantage over every other independent lounge in the terminal. Club Aspire is a broadly comparable product but closes around 1pm, which limits it to morning departures; My Lounge operates through the day. Clubrooms is the clear premium step-up within the same access ecosystem at a £15 PP supplement. For Priority Pass holders who want a quiet, well-priced lounge without pre-booking anxiety, My Lounge is consistently the most accessible option at Gatwick South.
A more enjoyable lounge than its modest reputation suggests. The outdoor terrace alone makes it worth considering over No1 on a good morning, and the generally lower occupancy means it reliably delivers what No1 often cannot: a seat, a buffet that hasn’t been depleted, and a calm atmosphere. The food is functional rather than outstanding, and the lack of showers and Lounge Club acceptance are real limitations. But for Priority Pass and DragonPass holders departing Gatwick South — particularly families and those flying in the afternoon when Club Aspire has closed — My Lounge is a dependable and often underrated choice.
