Hilton Garden Inn Hatton Cross

Heathrow's only large Hilton property with a walkable Tube connection. 364 refurbished rooms on the Piccadilly line at Hatton Cross — one stop from Terminals 2 and 3, two from Terminal 5.

Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Airport, Hatton Cross

Most Heathrow hotels cluster along Bath Road or press against the terminal buildings. The Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow sits apart from both — on the eastern perimeter of the airport at Hatton Cross, the Piccadilly line station that is one stop from Terminals 2 and 3 and one stop from Terminal 4 (via the T4 loop trains). It is a quieter corner than Bath Road, with fewer hotels and less passing trade, and the five-minute walk to the Underground gives guests a direct rail connection into central London without the Hoppa dependency that defines Bath Road stays. For that specific combination of Heathrow proximity and Tube access, there is very little competition.

The hotel is a large property — 364 rooms, recently refurbished — operating as a competent mid-market Hilton product. Jack’s Restaurant serves all-day British and international dishes. There is a sauna, a 24-hour gym, a Costa coffee bar, and parking managed by Horizon Car Parking at £18 per day. It is a former Jurys Inn, converted to Hilton Garden Inn in 2014 with more recent refurbishment works completed in 2025. Rooms are described across the review archive as clean, well-soundproofed, and modest in size — compact for a property of this age and scale, with a minority of guests noting the dated feel of pre-refurbishment rooms.

For Hilton Honors members there is one programme-specific detail that must be understood before booking: breakfast at HGI is not automatic in the way it can feel at other brands. Both Gold and Diamond members receive complimentary continental breakfast at HGI properties outside the US, but only when breakfast has been actively selected as the MyWay benefit — via the Hilton Honors app or at check-in. The default if no MyWay selection is made is 750 bonus points per night. Set the preference before arrival or confirm it at the front desk, or the breakfast the stay was designed around may not appear.

Guest Sentiment
4.2 / 5  ·  4,019 reviews
Location relative to Hatton Cross Tube and terminal access is the most consistent praise. Staff friendliness scores well throughout the archive. Room cleanliness and soundproofing — the hotel sits under the flight path but double and secondary glazing is effective — receive strong marks. Critical reviews focus on room size, the cost of extras including breakfast and parking, and occasional slow service at reception during busy periods.

Location

Hatton Cross sits on the southeastern corner of the airport, connected to the terminal complex by the Piccadilly line. From the hotel it is a five-minute walk to the station along the perimeter path — straightforward once you know the route, though several guests note the absence of directional signage at the station exit. The hotel is visible from the perimeter path and there is a back entrance that saves a little time. Note that Hatton Cross station does not have a lift, so guests with heavy bags should factor in the stairs.

From Hatton Cross the Piccadilly line splits into two alternating services: one goes via the Terminal 4 loop (T4 first, then Terminals 2 & 3, then back to London); the other goes direct to Terminals 2 & 3 and then Terminal 5. Both services stop at Hatton Cross. Check the destination board on the platform before boarding — the station also makes announcements calling out which terminals each train serves. The journey to Hyde Park Corner takes around 45–50 minutes; Leicester Square around 55 minutes. This is a direct, no-change connection from hotel to central London that requires no Hoppa and no taxi.

The Heathrow Hoppa also serves the hotel. A paid airport taxi to T2/T3 takes around 10–12 minutes. The hotel runs a paid shuttle to T3 every 30 minutes at £5 per person — confirm the current timetable with the hotel. The surrounding area is industrial airport perimeter — cargo facilities, car hire depots, BA maintenance. There is nothing to walk to in the evening beyond a large Tesco approximately one mile away.

Building and Rooms

The hotel is a purpose-built nine-floor property, originally opened as a Jurys Inn and converted to Hilton Garden Inn in 2014. A full refurbishment programme was underway through early 2025 and is understood to be complete. The 364 rooms are distributed across nine floors, with runway-facing rooms on higher floors offering views of aircraft movements — a feature appreciated by aviation enthusiasts. Family rooms are mostly located on the second floor, where runway views are less direct.

Standard rooms are compact — a recurrent theme in reviews, though the vast majority describe them as clean, well-maintained and effectively soundproofed. The double and secondary glazing installed for the Hatton Cross flight path keeps aircraft noise out effectively; guests consistently remark on quieter nights than expected for the location. All rooms include air conditioning, free WiFi, fridge, flat-screen TV, work desk, and tea and coffee. There is no executive lounge.

The 24-hour gym and sauna are the wellness facilities. No pool.

Dining

Jack’s Restaurant & Bar is the main dining venue — an all-day operation serving British dishes with international touches, a breakfast buffet in the morning, and a full menu through the day and evening. A Costa coffee bar handles hot drinks and light bites. Room service runs during limited hours. Breakfast is charged separately and is not included in standard room rates — relevant for all guests and particularly for Hilton Honors members (see Elite Benefits below).

The review consensus on food is solid rather than exceptional: described variously as good value, adequate, and reliable. The bar earns reasonable marks for drinks and atmosphere. For guests wanting evening options beyond the hotel, Hatton Cross does not offer them — the hotel’s own restaurant is the practical choice for most evenings.

★ PTP TIP

There are two Hilton Garden Inn hotels at Heathrow with near-identical names. This is the Hatton Cross property (Eastern Perimeter Road, TW6 2SQ) — the one with Tube access but no terminal walkway. The other is the Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3, which is connected directly to Terminal 2 by a covered walkway. Both are good hotels for different reasons — but arriving at the wrong one after a long-haul flight is a situation worth avoiding. Check your booking confirmation shows TW6 2SQ for this property.

★ PTP TIP

Both Gold and Diamond members receive complimentary continental breakfast at HGI properties outside the US — but only if breakfast has been selected as your MyWay benefit. The default without a selection is 750 bonus points per night. Set your MyWay preference for the Hilton Garden Inn brand in the Hilton Honors app before arrival, or confirm it explicitly at check-in. There are also no complimentary room upgrades at Hilton Garden Inn properties, so book the room category you want rather than assuming an upgrade path.

Practical Notes

Getting to the hotel from Hatton Cross station: Several guests mention the lack of signage at the station exit. Head along the perimeter path — the hotel is visible behind the warehouses and there is a back entrance that saves a few minutes. Allow 8–10 minutes from the station the first time, particularly with luggage. The station has no lift, so factor in stairs if travelling with heavy bags.

Trains to the correct terminal: At Hatton Cross, alternate Piccadilly line trains serve different branches — one goes via the Terminal 4 loop (T4 first, then T2/T3), the other goes direct to T2/T3 then T5. Check the platform destination board before boarding. The station announcements also call out which terminals each train serves.

Refurbishment status: A full room refurbishment programme was underway through early 2025 with completion reported as April 2025. Check recent TripAdvisor reviews to confirm current room condition before booking.

Park & Fly: The hotel offers Park & Fly packages combining overnight accommodation with multi-day airport parking at £18 per day. For guests driving to Heathrow, this can represent a significant saving versus separate hotel and long-stay car park bookings. Book via the hotel website directly for the best rates.

There are two Hilton Garden Inn hotels at Heathrow: This Hatton Cross property and the Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 — a completely separate hotel inside the terminal complex, connected to Terminal 2 by a covered walkway. That property offers greater terminal convenience at a higher price point; this one trades direct terminal access for Tube connectivity and lower nightly rates. The two hotels have near-identical names and guests regularly arrive at the wrong one. Confirm which property you have booked — the address here is Eastern Perimeter Road, TW6 2SQ.

✦ POINTS TRAVEL PRO VERDICT

The Hilton Garden Inn Hatton Cross occupies a genuinely useful position in the Heathrow hotel market: the only large Hilton-brand property with a walkable connection to a Piccadilly line station, giving guests a direct no-change Tube route into central London without Bath Road’s Hoppa dependency. For a pre-departure overnight or an arrival transit, the combination of direct rail access, reasonable pricing, and recently refurbished rooms at 364-key scale makes it a practical first choice in the Hilton portfolio at Heathrow.

The one piece of active management required: both Gold and Diamond members receive complimentary continental breakfast here, but only when breakfast has been set as the MyWay benefit. The default without a selection is 750 points per night. Set your preference in the app before arrival. There are no complimentary upgrades at any HGI, so book the room you want rather than counting on one.
